Requirements

• Minimum Age is 18
• Pass department physical agility test
• Pass background check
• Pass drug screen (initial and unannounced annual)
• Have valid Texas Drivers' License within 30 days of application
• Have (or agree to obtain) SSFMA Basic Firefighting certificate (or equivilant)
• Reside in Lucas Fire District
  • Exceptions made for "Shift Workers"
    • Must posses EMS or TCFP certification
    • Must agree to stand-by at station minium of 36 hours per month
    • Must attend required Department meetings and training

• Department meetings scheduled 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 7:00 - 10:00 pm
• Additional training meetings as scheduled by Training Officer

  • SFFMA Basic Firefighter (167 hours)
  • Quarterly "Live Fire" drills at CCCC

  • SFFMA Intermediate Firefighter (206 hours)
  • SFFMA Advanced Firefighter (192 hours)
  • ECA (64 hours)
  • EMT-B (180 hours)
  • EMS CE's
  • Apparatus Driver/Operator (44 hours)
  • Annual Regional Fire School (1 week) at Texas A&M University

• Full set of structural firefighting bunker gear
• Uniform shirts and ballcap
• Radio (N/A shift workers)
• Pager (N/A shift workers)
