Requirements
Minimum Age is 18
Pass department physical agility test
Pass background check
Pass drug screen (initial and unannounced annual)
Have valid Texas Drivers' License within 30 days of application
Have (or agree to obtain) SSFMA Basic Firefighting certificate (or equivilant)
Reside in Lucas Fire District
Exceptions made for "Shift Workers"
Must posses EMS or TCFP certification
Must agree to stand-by at station every 6th night 7PM to 7AM
Must attend required Department meetings and training
Meetings
Department meetings scheduled 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 7:00 - 10:00 pm
Additional training meetings as scheduled by Training Officer

SFFMA Basic Firefighter (167 hours)
Quarterly "Live Fire" drills at CCCC

SFFMA Intermediate Firefighter (206 hours)
SFFMA Advanced Firefighter (192 hours)

EMT-B (180 hours)
EMS CE's
Apparatus Driver/Operator (44 hours)
Annual Regional Fire School (1 week) at Texas A&M University

Full set of structural firefighting bunker gear
Uniform shirts and ballcap
